Massage

The practice of massage therapy is the assessment and treatment of the muscles, tendons, ligaments and connective tissues of the body to maintain, rehabilitate or augment physical function; relieve pain; prevent dysfunction; and to enhance health and promote wellness. It includes the systematic external application of a variety of manual techniques including stroking, friction, vibration, kneading, compression, percussion, stretching and passive joint mobilisation.

Remedial massage uses advanced techniques to treat a variety of ailments related to the musculoskeletal system. It uses several specialised techniques to locate and repair damage and to support and speed up the body’s own repair mechanisms. Massage can also be beneficial in supporting mental health, including depression, stress insomnia, and anxiety. Remedial massage can be gentle or strong, deep or shallow, depending upon each client’s needs. Our therapists tailor the pressure and techniques used to best suit the individual needs of the client.

All remedial massage sessions are customised for each individual client as needed for their presenting condition or as requested.

Some treatment techniques that may be used include:
Swedish techniques
Deep tissue releases
Trigger point therapy
Myofascial techniques
Relaxation therapy
Passive/Active stretching
