Kathy graduated from the University of Wollongong with a Bachelor of Nutrition and Dietetics. She has also completed a Sports Nutrition Essentials course, the Microba Insights Course about the human gut microbiome, and the Optifast VLCD Accredited Health Practitioner training program.
When it comes to nutrition and dietetics, Kathy believes there is no ‘one size’ fits all. She focuses on providing individualised, and realistic dietary advice, which meet a client’s personal needs. Advice is led by underlying diet-disease relationships, whilst respecting preferences, and aiming to achieve client goals. Kathy believes it is the dietitian’s role to equip individuals with a toolbox of strategies, that will help individuals achieve, and maintain health, in any given circumstance.
Kathy has experienced, and understands the challenges of change. Moving countries twice, witnessing various physically and mentally debilitating illnesses within family and friends, encountering individuals with difficult personalities, and many other hardships, provided her with a great level of compassion.
Outside of private practice, Kathy has worked as a Dietitian at South East Regional Hospital in the community setting, and on the hospital wards helping to identify and help patients manage nutrition related physical findings that result from various chronic diseases.
Kathy has enjoyed work experience with Jamie’s Ministry of Food. Through cooking classes, she interacted with youth, individuals with disabilities, refugees, and developed educational resources specific to these audiences. Kathy looks forward to helping you understand your nutrition requirements, no matter what the question or goal might be!
Kathy is available Tuesday and Thursday on a fortnightly basis.
